On Smartphone
Android – Google Chrome
- Open the Run Like Locals page in Google Chrome.
- At the bottom of the screen, a pop-up will appear asking if you want to translate the page.
- Tap Translate and choose your preferred language.
- If the pop-up doesn’t appear, tap the three dots in the top-right corner, then select Translate.
Android – Other Browsers (Samsung Internet, Opera, etc.)
Most browsers on Android are based on Chrome, so you’ll usually find the option under the menu (three lines or three dots). Look for Translate or Languages.
iPhone – Safari
- Open the Run Like Locals page in Safari.
- In the address bar, tap the “AA” icon on the left.
- Select Translate to [your language].
- If it’s your first time, Safari may ask you to download the translation — confirm and wait a few seconds.
iPhone – Google Chrome
- Open the page in Google Chrome.
- At the bottom, you’ll see a translation bar appear automatically.
- Tap Translate and choose your language.
- If you don’t see it, tap the three dots at the bottom-right, then choose Translate.
On Desktop
Windows – Google Chrome
- Open the Run Like Locals website in Chrome.
- Right-click anywhere on the page.
- Select Translate to English (or another default language).
- In the address bar, you can choose Options to select another language.
Windows – Microsoft Edge
- Open the page in Edge.
- A translation pop-up will appear automatically.
- If not, click on the Translate icon in the address bar.
- Select your language.
Windows – Firefox
Firefox doesn’t include translation by default. You can:
- Install the free extension Firefox Translations (developed by Mozilla).
- Once installed, a button will appear in the toolbar. Click it to translate any page.
Mac – Safari
- Open the page in Safari.
- In the address bar, click the Translate icon (a small speech bubble).
- Select Translate to [your language].
- If it’s the first time, Safari may ask you to download the language.
Mac – Google Chrome or Firefox
The steps are the same as on Windows:
- Chrome: right-click → Translate to…
- Firefox: use the Firefox Translations add-on.
Tips for Better Experience
- Translation may not always be perfect, but it’s enough to understand the article.
- If you read often in another language, you can set your browser to always translate Italian pages automatically.
- On Chrome, click the translation bar and select Always translate Italian.
